…watching a bus catch on fire mid-day in August, 2am lying in the grass on the big lawn in Central Park looking at stars, watching a homeless man chase a hasidic man to try and spank him, forgetting I’m on an island,walking from the LES to the UWS in a couple hours, seeing the sunset between two tall buildings and the reflexion on the mirrored facades, crazy stories from strangers while waiting in line for a bagel, desperately wanting to leave, desperately wanting to come back, taxi drivers driving at full speed,24 hour bodegas, 24 hour anything, years of living at night, running everyday in Central Park, the sheer number of ideas in such a small town, because in the end NYC is a small town and we’re all codepent.
